An EEMA High level briefing Fireside Debate:
Read the report here
Blockchains are the answer to everybody’s problems.
Privacy enhancing, user centric, self-executing, no single points of failure, ambient accountability – digital identity on the blockchain sounds too good to be true. Is it?
There are many aspects of blockchain that are grabbing people’s attention. Aside from the disruptive, anti-establishment origins of bitcoin, blockchain technology provides a radically new way to think about many business problems including digital identity. This includes digital identity that is both transparent and private, digital identity that is self-sovereign, digital identity claims that can self-execute in the course of transactions and so on.
EEMA’s Fireside will take the techno-babble out of Blockchain, and will discuss the real business issues that will determine if this technology will deliver on its promises for the industry and for your company. We will have some straight talking and some honest discussion.
This is a very hot topic, one that is moving very fast. Don’t get left behind.
A Thought Provoking Debate and Discussion on this critical subject Chaired by Jon Shamah, Chair of EEMA, with speakers:
Steve Pannifer is a director of Consult Hyperion – thought leaders in digital money and digital identity. Steve works with financial institutions, mobile operators, governments and technology start-ups on technology innovation in the areas of consumer-centric identity management, mobile payments and crypto-currencies. Steve has a background in transaction security including EMV payments security and high assurance messaging services for the capital markets.
In a previous EEMA fireside chat, Andy spoke about the impact of fake users on large online businesses, and how they are fighting back using mobile phone technology. For the past 18 months Andy has been helping TeleSign, an innovative Californian mobile identity company, with their long term strategy. He’s currently examining the potential of blockchain-related technology and how it could revolutionise the identity ecosystem, or not.
