Wednesday 16th August, at 5.00pm BST
This webinar will take a peek at the post-card payments world because at some point in the imaginable future, mobile device “tap and pay,” smartphone “app and pay,” biometrics and new ways to pay will together exceed EMV or magnetic stripe transactions at retail point of sale (POS). At this point (the plastic singularity or, as we prefer, #Cardmaggedon), not only the plastic card but card products will begin their slide into history. European forecasts are for instant payments to take more than a third of card volume over the next decade, and this will undoubtedly mean restructuring and consolidation as the economics of card networks change. Many observers saw Mastercard’s $1 billion purchase of the UK instant payment network operator VocaLink as confirmation that new strategies will be needed.
This webinar, hosted by Consult Hyperion & NYPAY, will seek to explain the issues and answer questions about the shift to personal and business account to account payments with immediate settlement (“Instant Payments”) and what this might mean for the traditional payment card industry stake holders:
• A quick introduction to instant payments and a global overview of there progress
• A few lessons from the UK where instant payments have been available for several years
• A discussion about the key technologies and trends that may shape the instant payments trajectory in the USA
• What does this mean for the payment card business and how might it change competition at POS

- Deborah Baxley, Partner, PayGility Advisors
- Gene Neyer, Executive Advisor – Industry and Regulatory, Finastra

Changing the Perspective of Information Security in the Cloud
The rise in demand for multi-factor authentication has accelerated as businesses wake up to the threat posed by online criminal activity. But just as some are catching up, the most forward-thinking organizations are already looking to take their security practices one step further. One way they are doing this is by implementing solutions that offer adaptive risk authentication and continuous security.
